Hi hello annyeong. My laptop can’t be turned on so I’m using
my mom’s laptop these past few weeks. Of course her laptop is more up to date
than mine but it’s just not the same when using something that is not yours.
Which is one of the reasons why I haven’t written about UP10TION which is what
I am supposed to write about as I have mentioned about it in my last post. But
today I will be writing about something else, because I’ve lost the mood to
write about UP10TION keke.
How did I lose the mood? It’s simple. Right now I am into
another boygroup.
Sounds very disloyal right? I mean, I said in my last post
that UP10TION (it’s pronounced up-ten-tion btw in case you’re wondering) is my
bias group at the time. But hey, I switch my interests every time I blink. Okay
maybe not to that extend but you get the point.
That’s what I’m going to write about today. It’s not just
switching bias group in K-Pop, but just my overall interests in things.
As far as I remember, when I was in primary school I was
into anime. It’s not like I knew all about anime but it was one of my main
interests. If I could use the computer, then anime was what I searched. And
also flash games. And then when I entered high school I got into K-Pop. At that
time anime was stored deep inside the back of my mind and all I could think
about was K-Pop. Name me a group and I could tell you all their members, their
debut song and their latest song etc. And then starting from Form 4 when there
was suddenly an increase in K-Pop fans *cough*EXO*cough* I got back into anime.
I think I mentioned this before somewhere.
But it didn’t stop there. Once I got into university I sort
of spent a lot of time on YouTube and got into Dan and Phil (again, like I’ve
mentioned before in a post). During the first sem I really loved YouTube and I
even got into MCR even though they’ve disbanded and I was also into 5SOS for a
while. And then during the sem break was when I got back into K-Pop a lil bit
by SEVENTEEN. During the second sem I was still into anime but also paid
attention to some of the updates in K-Pop as 5 out of 6 people in my house were
into K-Pop (including me). And then I finished Asasi and once again, got into
K-Pop.
So what exactly is the problem? There is no problem of
course, but I just thought it was interesting how I could love one thing but
then just didn’t think much about it after a while. Like Dan and Phil for
example. Back then whenever they uploaded a new video I would be so excited and
I would rewatch all their old videos whenever I was bored. Now when they upload
a video, I would only watch it if the title interests me. I just don’t get as
excited anymore. It’s like “Oh Dan uploaded a new video. And what’s this on my
recommended list? OMG MONSTA X ARE HAVING A COMEBACK?!”
Speaking of which, my current bias group as I am typing
right now is Monsta X. I need to emphasize the ‘as I am typing right now’
because who knows? Maybe next week I’ll have a different bias group. Aaaahhh I
really hope not.
Even if I might not take as much interest in my old
interests compared to my new interests (try to understand this line lol), it
doesn’t mean I forget about them. It’s just not my top priority anymore. And I
do feel bad sometimes, especially regarding K-Pop groups, because it feels like
I just let them go and chase a new group. But hey, it’s my life and it’s not
like I don’t support them just as much. I never bought any albums or vote for a
group for anything so everything’s still fair. What I do is I hope they win on
music shows. Yeah, just hope. If they do, hey, that’s great, they deserved it.
If they don’t, then too bad, maybe the competition was just too high and they
just haven’t gotten enough support.
So that is all. I want to say I’ll write about Monsta X soon
but I’m afraid I might jinx it like how I mentioned about writing on Code Geass
(which didn’t happen) and also UP10TION (which is not really on top of my
to-write list). So I’ll just say goodbye~
